 Turkey has made major changes to laws governing the sale of real estate to foreigners this year. The changes make it easier for foreigners to purchase property in Turkey, and are expected to attract a massive amount of investment to the country, despite concerns that a bubble is being created.
In 2011, property sales to foreigners were about $2 billion, a decline from the $2.5 billion the year before.

» Turkey says to connect Black Sea with Mediterranean Sea in next five years |

 Turkey's Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs, and Communications, Binali Yildirim on Sunday said that they would connect the Black Sea with the Mediterranean Sea by building new highways in the next five years.
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for the Ovit tunnel and connecting roads in Sivrikaya village of Ikizdere town in the north-eastern Rize province on Sunday, Minister Yildirim said that today was a very special day, in fact a feast, at the Ovit Mountain.

 Turkey received international direct investments worth 2.8 billion USD in March.
In a written statement released on Saturday, Turkey's Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that international direct investments in Turkey in the first quarter of 2012 were up 8.2 percent when compared to the same term in 2011 and reached a figure of 4.6 billion USD.

» Afghan doctors to receive training in Turkey |

 Afghan medical doctors and staff members will receive training in the south-eastern province of Malatya upon a protocol signed by the Afghan Ministry of Health and the Inonu University.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), the Dean of the Medical Faculty at the Inonu University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kizilay, said that they would provide training to 49 Afghan health personnel, including 13 doctors.

» 4 million Internet users switch to ‘safe Internet' |

 Four million Internet users have started to use an optional Internet safety scheme adopted by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) to protect children and young people from harmful content on the Internet since it became available in November 2011.
Speaking at a meeting held by the Turkish Informatics Industry Association (TÜBİSAD) on Thursday, BTK Director Tayfun Acarer said that 4 million Turkish Internet users had started to use the new Internet filtering system, which started operating on Nov. 22, 2011.
