Erdogan said that Turkey, so far, had been qualified for finals for five times in Olympic Games, but it had not hosted any Olympic Games, adding that this was not fair.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan completed his talks in London, and returned to Turkey early on Sunday.

Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin and Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz also returned to Turkey with Erdogan.

During his stay in London, Erdogan watched the opening ceremony of Olympic Games as well as a basketball game between Turkey and Angola, met British Prime Minister David Cameron and attended a reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.

Regarding Istanbul's candidacy to host 2020 Olympic Games, Erdogan said that Turkey, so far, had been qualified for finals for five times in Olympic Games, but it had not hosted any Olympic Games, adding that this was not fair.

Also, a country, which is highly Muslim populated, has never hosted Olympic Games, said Erdogan, adding that Istanbul was a city which united Asian and European continents as well as the civilizations.

Erdogan also congratulated Turkey's woman basketball team after it defeated Angola 72-50.
