Internationally known in the tourism sector for its beautiful blue-flagged beaches, famous castle, premium hotels and high-quality service, the Mediterranean city of Alanya is preparing to make a name for itself in the education sector.
The first private university in Antalya’s tourism heaven gained Higher Education Board, or YÖK, approval last week and will open its doors in 2012.

Germany was the leading country in the world with most tourists sent to Turkey in the first seven months of 2010.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 14.65 percent of all tourists who arrived in Turkey between January and July were those coming from Germany.

As the long, hot days of summer stretch on, Turkey's resorts may start to empty out a little as locals return home to celebrate Ramadan.
But with over 7,000 kilometers of coastline, the country has more than enough beaches to satisfy all those who want to stretch out on the sand and do very little for a fortnight. Of course the mega-resorts such as Alanya and Antalya have their fair share of the yellow stuff, but if you're looking for something just a little less obvious, these are some of our favorites.
