Sedes Holding head Demir Sabancı said on Wednesday that investment opportunities in Turkey have become more appealing than ever before despite the ongoing global financial crisis.
Speaking at a press conference in İstanbul to introduce Gratis, the holding's new retail chain, which will sell food, perfumes, personal care and cosmetic products, Sabancı said costs have declined noticeably amidst shrinking demand and that companies are in a better position today than they were when they first began operating.

An Airbus 340, sporting the distinctive Turkish Airlines tail-fin logo, landed at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport Wednesday afternoon, thus inaugurating direct, commercial flight links between Istanbul and China's commercial capital.
Scheduled to operate five days weekly, the Turkish Airlines Istanbul - Shanghai direct flight brings to ten the number of flights weekly between Istanbul and China, and marks an important step in the fast-growing airline's development in the booming Chinese market.
